☀Family Focus

As we have previously come up with a family focus as part of our general conference experience, once again we did the same thing. Our current focus has been
Serve, Love, Give
We decided to watch President Monson's conference message after church and have the girls listen and help decide what our new focus should be. President Monson tells some great stories, which are memorable for an adult and easy to listen to for a child. We talked briefly about a few things as we watched and then after watching for a while longer, Maren said without hesitation - "prayer, that is what our family focus should be!"

PRAYER
"Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you;
seek me diligently and ye shall find me."

"...communication with our Father in Heaven—including our prayers to Him and His inspiration to us—is necessary in order for us to weather the storms and trials of life. The Lord invites us, “Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me.” As we do so, we will feel His Spirit in our lives, providing us the desire and the courage to stand strong and firm in righteousness—to “stand … in holy places, and be not moved.”" - President Thomas S. Monson

General Conference should be our compass for the next six months and it's wonderful that we can be prompted with what our little family needs and what we need individually to focus on to help us learn and grow so we can make our way back to our Father in Heaven. My goal is that we will be able to draw closer to Heavenly Father and the Savior during these next 6 months while focusing on improving our prayers.
