not all Sundays are as peaceful...
A few weeks ago I was at least 10 min late to sacrament meeting, with my girls. Near the end of the meeting, as soon as our Stake President started to give his remarks, Maren started screaming about something in her eye. I grabbed her hand, because I knew that she would only get louder. Then with the other arm I grabbed Hazel who had been rolling on the floor upset about something else. We made it to the bathroom, all was well with Maren's eye, and I tried to calmly explain to Hazel that we don't throw fits in sacrament meeting. After that, I thought it best to stay in the foyer for the last 10 min.
(maybe the title should have been how to shorten sacrament meeting by at least 20 min.)
Today, however, I felt an inner peace, Hazel's fussing didn't alarm me and neither did Maren's constant questioning, "can I draw during the sacrament?" It was a wonderful meeting. After church and after making dinner I listened to this talk while doing the dishes and found it to be so powerful! (for future reference, thank you to my girls for playing so nicely together this Sunday evening.) Oh, the wonderful blessings of attending church!
Today, one of our young women gave the lesson, you know who you are, and she did such a terrific job! It was about the family and unity in the family. The story of Esther kept popping into my mind. We each have and come from such unique family backgrounds, but I am certain that Heavenly Father is exactly aware of what family we are in and that he makes no mistakes with our "placement". So to each member of the family and especially each of our young women, I say you can make a big difference in your families now and it will prepare you for your family in the future.
