My brother sent us this, and now we have food storage mania. We know it is wise to have a supply of food in case of an emergency and if I report on our progress we will be more likely to get it done.
Long-Term Food

So, there is a lot of work that actually goes into calculating, collecting, and storing all that food. There are so many great ideas too, I love finding out what other people have done and what their systems are. I also appreciate that we are each entitled to inspiration for our own families. (this is brilliant)
For example: the idea of rotating a year supply is very overwhelming to me, but rotating a 3 month supply is not so overwhelming. I just have my canned goods, flour, sugar, tp, peanut butter, etc. etc. that we rotate through or use and replenish as the supply gets low. I have two shelves in the basement that I keep everything on. Most people probably have enough room in their cupboards and pantries for a 3 month supply of food.
So for us buying a Long-Term Suppply, that we won't use, unless there is an emergency is very doable and if in the future I feel like grinding some wheat and making wheat bread, (which is one of my goals... eventually) I will have the wheat to use.

is the program we have been following.
Three-Month Supply... check
Financial Reserve... check
Long-Term Supply... in the works
Drinking Water... no check
(unless you count the water in the water heater)
