We also celebrated Easter with family at Grammy & Grampa's cabin. We loved being with everyone and all the thought that was put into the family Easter baskets and dinner. The food was delicious, the treats were delicious and a highlight was the little duck races that we had. {the poor papa duck had a heavier load to carry} The children and adults enjoyed this, as you can see.
The pictures of Hazel and that little mama duck are so precious to me. Maren often reminds me that, "when she is the mom I will be the grandma." While I don't want to be aged before my time, it is a good reminder that I am raising little mama ducks. Hazel was so interested in the mommy and how her little chicks would follow her.
Which reminds me of the talk from Conference that I thought was so telling about the sheep and the lambs. Here is the poem shared, titled "The Echo" by C. C. Miller.
’Twas a sheep not a lamb
That strayed away in the parable Jesus told,
A grown-up sheep that strayed away
From the ninety and nine in the fold.
And why for the sheep should we seek
And earnestly hope and pray?
Because there is danger when sheep go wrong:
They lead the lambs astray.
Lambs will follow the sheep, you know,
Wherever the sheep may stray.
When sheep go wrong,
It won’t take long till the lambs are as wrong as they.
And so with the sheep we earnestly plead
For the sake of the lambs today,
For when the sheep are lost
What a terrible cost
The lambs will have to pay.
